Arne Slot boss denied Liverpool were too complacent in their 3-0 defeat at the Etihad Stadium but admitted they made a number of mistakes in their 3-2 defeat at Fulham.

The Reds suffered their first away Premier League defeat of the season despite taking a 1-0 lead at Craven Cottage through Alexis Mac Allister but first-half goals from Ryan Sessegnon, Alex Iwobi and Rodrigo Muniz, while Luis Diaz pulled one back in the 72nd minute, were beaten 3-2 on Sunday.

“There is no reason to be complacent, we are not the number one team in the league because we win every game by three or four goals,” Arne Slot said

“We have to work hard and be very dedicated, and we have to have quality to win the game.”

“A team that has won the league for four seasons now has 3-0 at half-time in almost every game they play. That’s not what happened to us. We know we have seven games to play. On Wednesday we almost lost at Everton, today we almost lost.”

“Our performance in the second half was much better, but it’s difficult to win a game at this level when you concede three goals in the first half. Unfortunately, we didn’t have enough time to score the third goal. Many teams find it difficult to play against Fulham. สนใจสมัคร? คลิกที่นี่เพื่อเริ่มต้น The performance in the second half was excellent. We had chances, but in the end we didn’t have enough time.”

“I think overall we played well. We prepared the game from the start and finished it the other way. We played on Thursday night and played 24 hours better than them.”

“I don’t think the mistakes we made were related to fatigue at all. Now I see that everyone looks back and says, ‘That first half was a disaster.’

“But if you look back, you will see the good times too, because there were also good times.”

“Even though it was 1-1, I looked at it and thought, ‘Okay, this wasn’t our best game, but we still had control of the game.’ Then all of a sudden I blinked and we were down 1-3.

“It wasn’t a catastrophic 45 minutes, but the mistakes we made were things we’re not used to. That’s different from playing badly in my opinion.”

“Of course it disappoints me, both the players and the fans. The reason we are in this position is because we didn’t make too many mistakes.”

“The players tried to make up for them, that’s what we tried to do for their second goal, but unfortunately the ball went in instead of going behind.”

“We now have a whole week to prepare for West Ham and I think they are ready,”
